Scott & Tawana Richardson
Lead Pastor
Scott was born in Louisville, KY. In 1990, he graduated from Jennings County High School in North Vernon, IN. Following graduation, he spent 6 years in the United States Marine Corps. He later graduated from seminary in Jackson, MS, where he met his wife, Tawana. They have two wonderful children, Tristan and Taylor. Scott has served in ministry for three decades and counting as Student Pastor, Associated Pastor, and now as the Senior Pastor at Life Center. He loves restoring and admiring cars of all kinds, especially muscle cars. Scott enjoys watching the Ravens, Orioles, and Nascar, but his heart belongs to college basketball. Go Wildcats!
Andrew & Laura Garrison
Executive Pastor
Andrew was born in Charlotte, NC and spent 12 years living in Nigeria, West Africa as the child of missionary parents. He graduated from Jackson College of Ministry with a BA in Religious Studies. While there he met his wife Laura. They currently live in Bel Air, MD, home of Broom's Bloom Creamery (the best ice cream you'll ever eat!) and have three fantastic children, Savannah, Nathaniel, and Sierra. Andrew has over three decades of ministry experience. He is passionate about seeing people find a real relationship with Christ and realizing His purpose for their lives. He serves as the Executive Pastor at Life Center. He loves spending time with his family; they are his motivation for excellence. He enjoys reading a good book, being immersed in great conversation, going out on a boat, watching superhero moves, and being Poppy to his incredible grandkids.
Philip Mone
Congregational Pastor
Philip was born and grew up in Uganda, Africa until moving to America to attend college. Philip moved to Baltimore and began attending Life Center in 1996. He has a Master's degree in Medical Physics from East Carolina University and has been in ministry for over a decade. Philip is passionately dedicated to ministry at Life Center, where Philip serves as a Congregational Pastor.
Kara Pennewill
Children’s Pastor
Meet Kara, our dedicated Children’s Pastor who has a heart for kids. Kara was born and raised right here in Baltimore, Maryland. She has served in children’s ministry for over 12 years now and is passionate about working with kids and helping them grow in their faith. With a background in education, Kara is equipped with the skills and knowledge to guide young hearts towards a deeper understanding of God’s love. She became a part of the Life Center family in 2023. Kara is always ready to bring the fun and joy to make learning about faith a memorable and joyful experience for our kids. Outside of her role as children’s pastor, Kara is a full-time kindergarten teacher at a Christian school. She enjoys playing sports, making crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.
Kevin and Morgan Shumaker
Student Pastor
Kevin was born in Havre de Grace MD. In 2012 he graduated from Aberdeen High School in Aberdeen MD where he met his wife, Morgan, of 4 years. They have a daugther, Hadley Grace. After graduating high school, he then graduated from Harford Community College with an Associates degree in Criminal Justice. After college, Kevin joined the police force with Cecil County Sheriff's Office where he has served for over 10 years and continues to today. In 2022, he graduated from South Eastern University with a bachelor's in Ministerial Leadership with a focus in Biblical Studies. Kevin has served in youth ministry for over 3 years, serves youth in Cecil County as a School Resource Officer, and is the Student Pastor at Life Center. He loves weight training and all cars, but mostly JDM. Kevin enjoys watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. But his favorite team is Bayern Munich.
Effrain and Silvia Diaz
Centro de Vida Pastors
Effrain is from El Salvador, Silvia is from Mexico. They have been with Life Center since 2016. They have five wonderful children who are all involved in ministry.
